Overview
Fundación Proyecto B is a non-profit organization with 15 years of experience contributing to crime prevention and the workforce inclusion of young people who have been deprived of their liberty and are reintegrating into society. It is estimated that every year, there are more than 2,500 young people in this situation in Chile.
Proyecto B’s methodology for achieving social inclusion consists of developing specialized employability programs that include: job readiness training; connecting participants with corporate job opportunities; and follow-up support during the first months after starting a new job.
This program promotes social inclusion through socio-emotional and technical training. Participants receive support from psychologists as a complement to job skills training and specific areas identified as having high employability potential.
They work with youth exiting Chile's child protection system (Mejor Niñez) and juvenile justice system (formerly SENAME, now the National Juvenile Reintegration Service). This group faces multiple barriers: low educational attainment, histories of abandonment and violence, labor market stigma, and a high risk of recidivism.
Proyecto B recognized the immense value of combining job training, psychosocial support, and employer engagement—a service absent from public programs but necessary to ensure long-term workforce inclusion.
In 2021, they adapted this program for youth exiting residential protection to support their transition to independent living. In 2025, they launched an early prevention program for adolescents aged 13–16 in vulnerable schools, aimed at fostering social coexistence and respect for rules.
Proyecto B addresses these challenges by combining job training and technical courses through OTEC Libres SpA (hereafter OTEC), a social enterprise 100% owned by Fundación Proyecto B.

NESsT Investment
NESsT’s support will focus on strengthening governance, professionalizing financial management, and expanding the OTEC's commercial capacity, with the goal of consolidating its role as the engine of financial sustainability for Proyecto B and reducing dependence on public contracts.
In parallel, NESsT will support the implementation of marketing tools, commercial management systems, and more structured sales strategies, with a focus on improving conversion, revenue predictability, and client diversification.
During the first year, NESsT's support will be key to validating and strengthening the OTEC's operating and financial model, focusing on building the team and moving toward a more distributed leadership structure. Additionally, NESsT will assist in creating a plan to strengthen gender inclusion and equity, addressing both internal practices and their impact on beneficiaries.
This approach intentionally links the growth of earned income to the expansion of youth employment, ensuring that financial sustainability and social impact mutually reinforce one another as the organization grows.
