About NESsT in Chile
NESsT began its work in Chile in 1999, with a commitment to strengthening social enterprises that create both economic opportunity and lasting impact.
Although Chile is classified as a middle-income country, it continues to face significant social challenges. Persistent inequality remains one of them: income distribution is still highly uneven, with a Gini coefficient above 40, reflecting substantial gaps in income and opportunity across the population.
At the same time, many people continue to live with limited access to stable income and essential services. In this context, NESsT works alongside mission-driven enterprises to help them grow sustainably, build resilient operations, and generate positive outcomes in areas such as employment, gender inclusion, and community wellbeing.
Our focus is on supporting innovative business models that expand opportunities for historically excluded groups and contribute to more equitable futures.
