This panel proposes a strategic debate on the role of forest communities in building a just climate transition. From the perspective of ancestral knowledge, territorial demands and sustainability, practices and alliances that promote inclusion and strengthen the sovereignty of Amazonian peoples, contributing to the sustainable development of the region, will be discussed.

This event at the COP16 Green Zone is designed to foster open and honest dialogue between communities engaged in green businesses and the environmental organizations that support and promote them.
At this COP16 panel, experts will analyze the challenges of tropical value chains and their potential for the bioeconomy featuring NESsT Country Director, Colombia, Alejandra Ramírez and NESsT portfolio enterprise, Asoprocegua.
NESsT, the PanAmazon Network for Bioeconomy, the Amazon Investors Coalition, CI, and WRI are co-hosting a panel at the GreenZone, COP16, Cali in Colombia to discuss solutions to unlock financing for locally-led sociobioeconomy businesses in the Pan-Amazon region, addressing current challenges and opportunities.
The panel, hosted by global impact investor NESsT and the Organization of Indigenous Peoples of the Colombian Amazon (OPIAC) will position the Indigenous Amazonian entrepreneurship incubator model as an effective strategy for conserving biodiversity and promoting the well-being of Indigenous peoples, by mobilizing public and private financial resources and fostering dialogue among diverse stakeholders.
