NESsT, a leading global impact investor and venture philanthropist, recently expanded its executive team with the addition of Catalina Rodriguez Hohman as Chief Financial Officer. Catalina, who is based in Cali, Colombia, has over 15 years of financial experience in national and multinational companies including EY, Deloitte, Russell Bedford International, and most recently One Earth Future Foundation (OEF).
In her almost five years at One Earth Future Foundation, Catalina provided strategic oversight to the Foundation's programs to ensure its financial performance aligned with programmatic activities. She also ensured compliance with OEF’s international operations activities in Colombia, Somalia, and Austria.
"Catalina’s appointment comes at a pivotal time for NESsT. Over the last five years, NESsT has dramatically expanded its direct investments in social enterprises across South America and Central and Eastern Europe, as well growing the teams that provide support to those enterprises,” said Chad Sachs, NESsT Chief Executive Officer. “With her robust background in both not for profits and impact investing funds, Catalina is the right person to oversee NESsT's financial strategic decision-making.”
As Chief Financial Officer, Catalina oversees the financial strategy for the seven countries in which NESsT invests: Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Poland, and Romania. She also leads NESsT’s global financial structure and prudent financial management of its investment funds – the Lirio Fund in South America and the Violet Fund in Central and Eastern Europe.
Additionally, her responsibilities will focus on building financial strategies that align with NESsT’s mission, fostering collaboration across teams, and helping guide the organization through key growth transitions.
“I’m incredibly proud to be part of an organization with such a powerful mission, helping communities that need it most to access better opportunities, dignified work, and a higher quality of life,” said Catalina. “Being surrounded by a team that’s deeply committed to doing things with integrity and purpose makes this journey even more meaningful. As a woman, it fills me with joy to contribute my knowledge and leadership to a space where impact, inclusion, and collaboration truly matter. This role inspires me, not just professionally, but personally.”
Catalina’s addition to the NESsT team in Colombia underscores its growing impact and reach through the Bogotá-based office. Since 2021, NESsT’s work in Colombia has channeled over $2.4M USD in resources to 18 Colombian social enterprises and provided key business assistance, supporting those enterprises to create 3,765 dignified jobs in the country.
