Matthew Mummert

NESsT Entrepreneur-in-Residence
Lima, Peru

Matthew Mummert is a rising junior student from Long Island University Brooklyn who not only has an excellent academic record, but an excellent athletic record as well. He was a member of his high school varsity football, basketball, soccer and track teams which prepared him for his current position as captain of the LIU Men’s Soccer Team. Matthew is most proud of his contribution to his community by organizing the clean-up of the Amtrak station in Crawfordsville, Indiana, his home town. The station had previously received the lowest rating in the country.

He was integral to its improvement by organizing events and rallies, recruiting volunteers and involving local business to support the effort to improve the grounds and landscaping. As a fellow of the Jeannette K. Watson Fellowship, Matthew brings previous experience from the NYC Department of Parks and Shearman and Sterling LLP.
