Kevin Lynch began serving Social Enterprise Alliance as President & CEO in June of 2011 after serving four years on SEA’s Board of Directors including as Treasurer and Vice Chair. Lynch has been working in the social enterprise world, first and foremost as a practitioner, and also as an author, speaker and field leader, for the past two decades

From 2003 until his appointment at SEA, Lynch was President of Rebuild Resources, Inc. (, a non-profit social purpose business in St. Paul, Minnesota that helps chronic addicts and alcoholics find a path to sobriety through a program of spiritual recovery and work. Rebuild’s business operations, include a custom apparel and promotional items business (, and a contract manufacturer. These businesses provide the recovery environment for Rebuild’s student-employees, and serve as the economic engines which fuel the enterprise.

After starting and selling a direct mail business in college, Lynch spent 21 years in the advertising industry, the last 14 as founder and principal of Lynch Jarvis Jones, a social enterprise ad agency whose mission was to create positive social change through the power of advertising and marketing.

Lynch is the primary co-author of Mission, Inc., The Practitioner’s Guide To Social Enterprise, a highly regarded, practical book that focuses on the day-to-day challenges and opportunities faced by social enterprise practitioners. He has keynoted across the United States and on three continents.

Lynch has served on several national and local boards, including Social Venture Network, Headwaters Foundation for Justice, Rebuild Resources, Inc., the Great Northern Union Chorus, Twin Cities Community Gospel Choir, and (as the co-founder) Responsible Minnesota Business.
