Social Entrepreneur, Ashoka Fellow, Synergos Senior Fellow and member of NESsT’s Business Advisory Network. In 2003 Celso Grecco created the Social Stock Exchange (SSE) for BOVESPA (Brazil Stock Exchange). Recognized by United Nations as a pioneering model, the brazilian social stock exchange was adopted as case study by the Global Compact Office.

In 2009 the SSE was replicated in Portugal in partnership with Euronext Lisbon becoming an innovative financial instrument for the development of the social sector. The portuguese SSE is the second of the world, the first in Europe and a pilot model for the Euronext network (New York, Amsterdam, Brussels and Paris stock exchanges).

Celso Grecco is co-chairman of the Social Stock Exchange Association, based in Berlin. His work was acknowledged in the book “The Power of Unreasonable People” and in November 2008 he received the “Vision Award 2008” delivered by Professor Muhammad Yunus in Berlin. From 2007-2009 he worked as a consultant in branding for Charity Bank, the british and first not for profit Bank of the world. He’s co-author of the books “Innovative Funding Mechanisms at Work” (published in Germany and England) and “Social Development and the Third Sector in Portugal” (published in Portugal).
