The NESsT-Citi Social Enterprise Competition was launched by NESsT in 2007 with support from the Citi Foundation to enable civil society organizations (CSOs) in Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia to plan for and launch social enterprises. At the reception, NESsT and Citi will showcase competition finalists and present awards for the strongest social enterprise concepts.

The final day of the Symposium is an interactive, working session focusing on the evolution of the social enterprise sector globally and NESsT’s role as a catalyst in central Europe. A group of “pioneers” from around the world will reflect on new trends and opportunities in the social enterprise sector, particularly in developing new financing instruments for investing in social enterprises, and explore opportunities to apply such tools in central Europe.
