| NESsTER Profile: Mark Harrold NESsT Entrepreneur-in-Residence University: Stanford University NESsTER Project: Mark is working with the Budapest team. Background: Mark is a rising senior majoring in International Relations at Stanford University, with a concentration in political economy. In additional to coursework for his major, he is beginning research for an honors thesis on creative destruction in the NGO sector through the Stanford Center on Democracy, Development, and the Rule of Law. His experience teaching at a middle school during the summer of 2007 with a nation-wide program called The Breakthrough Collaborative sparked a growing interest in public service. At school, he has helped to start a student group, Stanford Nonprofits, that matches selected undergraduates with the executive boards of Bay Area nonprofits for apprenticeships and mentoring, with the mission of inspiring new public service leaders. He speaks Russian and French, and has studied abroad in St. Petersburg. His interests include journalism, fiction, as well as hiking and running. Contact: mharrold@nesst.org
