Hillary Mendelsohn is the Founder and President of thepurplebook: The Definitive Guide to Exceptional Online Shopping; and President of Poetic Licensing, LLC – a firm which consults on the merchandising and licensing of film and television properties.
Mrs. Mendelsohn also serves as the Executive Director of FLASH: A California Partnership for Safety and Preparedness, working with a powerful coalition of partners including the Department of Education, the Red Cross, FEMA, California Office of Homeland Security and the California Office Of Emergency Services to, create an annual emergency educational program for Kindergarten through 12th grade and Family Emergency Action Plan to be implemented throughout the California public school system. This program will launch during the academic year of 2004-2005. Hillary is also Co-Chairman of The Industry Task Force, a group of concerned citizens that joined together after 9/11 to focus on how communities could better prepare themselves for an emergency.
Mrs. Mendelsohn sits on the Board of Directors of several non-profits including; The California Council for Humanities; Children Uniting Nations (CUN) is a non profit organization dedicated to providing quality mentoring relationships, based on academic achievement, for children at risk and in the foster care system; and C.O.A.C.H. for Kids, an organization that provides mobile medical units run out of Cedars Sinai Hospital providing basic health care to children in low income areas of Los Angeles.
Hillary is a graduate of UCLA with a BA in English Literature. She is married to Michael Mendelsohn, the founder and CEO of Patriot Advisers, an entertainment investment firm and she is mother of two children.
